Waiting for spring

Vintern har fortfarande taget om oss, men dagarna blir längre och en blek vårsol ger oss redan hopp om livet! Jag hjälper våren på traven med ljusa gardiner och knoppande blommor. Här har jag pimpat en alldeles vanlig terracottakruka med lite färg, decoupage och söta metallcharms. Och pärlhyacinterna börjar redan kika fram!

Winter still has us in its cold grip, but we can start to see a change with longer days and a pale winter sun. To boost the spring feeling, I decorated a boring old terracotta pot with some paint, decoupage and sweet metal charms. And I can already see the spiring buds!

Färgen är ToDo's akrylfärger, i Chalk White och Capetown Blue, som jag duttat och dragit med en liten svamp. På en yta lite större än mitt stämpelmotiv drog jag på lite extra med den vita färgen, så att stämpeln skulle synas bättre sen. Jag stämplade motivet med Staz-on på ett vitt silkespapper och målade sedan med vatten precis runt motivet så att jag kunde riva ut det och slippa klippta kanter. Jag fäste motivet med decoupagelim både under och över. Metallcharmsen fick sig några duttar av samma vita och ljusblå färger.

The paint is from ToDo, I used Chalk White and Capetown Blue, and I used a sponge to brush/pat paint onto the pot. On an area slightly larger than the stamp I wanted to use, I used a bit extra white paint, as a background. I stamped using Staz-on on a white tissue paper, and then painted just around the stamp with water, so I could carefully tear out the stamped image as opposed to cutting it with scissors. I used decoupage glue under and above the image to secure it. The metal charms got a little distressed using the same white and light blue paints.
